Top 3 Ways to Find Deals on LEGO Sets! Where, How and When to Buy?

Have you ever wondered the best way to get great deals on incredible Lego sets? Well, in this video, I’m going to highlight where, how, and when to purchase Lego sets so that you can get them at a discount. Are you ready? Let’s go!

Obviously, if you’re a collector or Lego investor, whenever you’re buying a Lego set, you want to buy it on discount. But some of us just don’t know where to go and how to find sets on a deal. Well, I’ve been in the Lego game for the past eight years, buying, collecting, and investing, and I’m here to share my wisdom and experience on where I find great deals on Lego sets for my personal collection and for investing. So, let’s waste no more time and jump straight into the video.

The first way, which shouldn’t come as a surprise, is Black Friday. Yes, Black Friday is the holy grail of Lego set discounts. This is the time of year when buying Lego sets, and pretty much anything else, is a steal. Lego.com, Amazon.com, and many other retailers usually discount sets that are retiring at the end of the year to make space for the new wave of sets launching on January 1st. This is the perfect opportunity to snag some amazing deals on high-dollar Lego sets. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out.

Let me give you a couple of examples from my experiences over the last few years. I’ll pull up my email here and show you some of the orders I placed around the Black Friday timeframe.

For instance, in 2019, I bought two Cloud City sets for $244 each. The retail price was originally $350, so I got over 40% off. Now, here’s the mind-blowing part: these sets are now trending at around $800 to $1,000 on the secondary market. Talk about a great investment opportunity! Unfortunately, I sold them too soon, but still made a significant profit. Lesson learned for the future.

In that same year, I also picked up the Lego Welcome to Apocalypseburg set for $210 during a Black Friday sale on lego.com. The original price was $300, so I saved around 35-40% on this set. Little did I know that it would appreciate so much in value. It’s now valued at anywhere from $700 to $850 on the secondary market. Crazy returns!

Moving on to 2020, I found some cool deals on Target.com. These may not be as mind-blowing as the previous examples, but it’s still worth mentioning. I got the City Rocket Assembly set for $90, Mission Friends Rescue Mission Boat for $54, and the City Town Ski Resort for around 35-40% off. These are still great savings on quality sets.

So, there you have it, the top three ways to find deals on Lego sets. Black Friday is definitely the prime time to shop for discounts, but don’t forget to check out other retailers, both online and in-store, throughout the year. You never know when a great deal might pop up.

Remember, collecting and investing in Lego sets can be a fun and profitable endeavor. Just keep an eye out for those deals, and you’ll be well on your way to securing some amazing sets for your collection or investment portfolio.

Happy Lego hunting!
