Do LEGO Star Wars re-releases increase in value?

Can the value of re-released LEGO Star Wars sets increase over time? from Youtuber- Brick Bucks

Hey hey, it’s Jim with BrickBucks, and I just want to start off by giving a quick shout out to our sponsor FBA Multi-Tool. This tool is a must-have for all Lego investors out there. It helps us analyze sets, make better buying decisions, and see potential profits. Good afternoon, everybody! It’s time for another BrickBucks update. I’m Jim, your funny and humorous male staff reporter, and today we’re going to discuss a burning question that Lego investors often contemplate: Do Lego Star Wars re-releases go up in value?!

Now, before we get into the juicy details, I must warn you that we’ll be comparing previous sets to their contemporary re-release sets. I know, I know, re-releases can be a touchy subject, but let’s face it, there will always be an X-wing and a Millennium Falcon in the Star Wars Lego universe.

The first set we’re going to look at is the Luke Skywalker X-wing Fighter. As I’m sure you’re aware, this set is already sold out on the Lego Shop at Home website. Now, I don’t know if it’s because of overwhelming demand, or maybe it’s due to the delightful combination of COVID and Q4 frenzy. But hey, it’s sold out, so there’s definitely some buzz around it.

Before we dive into the re-release, let’s take a quick peek at its predecessor. Ah, the memories! This set was once priced at $49.99 and is now selling for nearly $200 on Amazon. Cha-ching! That’s the kind of profit we Lego investors love to see.

Now, let’s shift our attention to the contemporary re-release. You can get it for a cool $44.99, and the website says it should be available by February. Now, I did stalk the ever-helpful CamelCamelCamel website for its price history, and while there isn’t a ton of action yet, it’s definitely something to keep an eye on if you’re interested in investing. And speaking of investing, if you want access to my database or spreadsheet on micro fighters, consider becoming a premium member on Patreon. Shameless plug, I know.

Moving on to the micro fighters. These little guys often don’t get the attention they deserve, but boy, oh boy, are they an investment opportunity. Just take a look at the Millennium Falcon micro fighter. It was once priced at $59.99, and now it’s fetching a pretty penny. Lesson learned: never underestimate the power of small sets.

Lastly, let’s discuss the upcoming Imperial Shuttle set. It hasn’t been released yet, but boy, does it look enticing. With a price point of $80, it’s a good-looking set with lots of potential. And if you need proof, just take a gander at the price points of previous Imperial Shuttles on Amazon. Let’s just say there’s definitely room for profit.

So, there you have it, folks. Lego Star Wars re-releases can indeed go up in value. It’s all about doing your due diligence and diving into the market. And hey, if re-releases are your thing, stay tuned for our next video dedicated solely to the Tie Fighter. I’ve got it queued up and ready to go.

Thanks for watching, and as always, stay brickin’ awesome!
