Brick Bucks: I Will Make $18,204 on this LEGO Investment!

Hey there fellow LEGO enthusiasts! Welcome back to another exciting update from Brick Bucks, where we dive into the world of LEGO investing and reselling. I’m your trusty reporter, Jim, and today we’re going to talk about a theme that has been a goldmine for me and many others – Architecture!

Now, before we launch into this, I have to confess that my love for Architecture LEGO sets knows no bounds. It’s been a consistent winner for me, allowing me to stack up some serious profits. But hey, that doesn’t mean I’m not keeping an eye on other themes too. Anyway, let’s get to the main focus of today’s discussion – the Architecture U.S. Capital set.

Now, I haven’t actually sold any of my U.S. Capital sets yet. I want to wait until the price is just right. But for the sake of this exercise, let’s assume I sold all of them today. I did some research on our old friends Amazon and eBay to check the current market prices. On Amazon, it’s going for $189.95. But you know what? I’m an eBay guy at heart, and I still love my eBay community. So, on eBay, prices range from $123 to $187. Let’s settle somewhere in the middle and say the price is $150. That’s a nice conservative estimate, considering we’re entering Q4 and prices tend to jump up during this time of the year.

Okay, let’s get down to the numbers. Currently, I have 314 units of the U.S. Capital set in my inventory. I bought them at a retail price of $100 each, but being the savvy LEGO investor that I am, I managed to snag them for $75 each. So, my total LEGO investment for the U.S. Capital sets is $23,546. Impressive, right?

If I were to sell all 314 sets on eBay at $150 each, my total sales would reach $47,100. Now, let’s subtract the fees. As I’ve mentioned before, I use a fulfillment center for most of my LEGO selling endeavors. It saves me time and energy, especially with my heart surgery and two young children running around. So, considering all the fees involved, my profit from the U.S. Capital sets would end up being $18,204. Not too shabby, my friends.

Let’s break it down further. The time it took me to acquire the sets was probably around two hours, and handling them, well, that was a bit of a mission. With my medical issues, it took me a solid four hours to get everything sorted and ready for sale. But hey, four hours is a small price to pay for those profits, right?

Now, if we calculate the hourly wage from this investment, it comes down to around $3,034 per hour. Woohoo! That’s some serious cash. Of course, everyone has different goals and expectations for their LEGO investments, so make sure you set your own hourly wage target.

Now, before I sign off, I’d just like to ask you all, my lovely viewers, to like and subscribe to our channel if you haven’t already. It means the world to us! And hey, a like would be even better than a subscribe. But if you’re in a generous mood, go ahead and do both. We appreciate the support!

Alright, my LEGO-loving friends, that’s all for today’s Brick Bucks update. Remember, keep your eyes on those profits and happy investing! Stay tuned for more tips, tricks, and tales from the LEGO investment world. Until next time!
