Every Retiring LEGO Speed Champions Set in 2023
By: Funny Guy

Lego Speed Champions is hands down one of the coolest and most beloved Lego themes out there. These sets have been best sellers for a while now, and it’s easy to see why. Not only do they look amazing when displayed together, but they have also been redesigned in recent years to be even bigger and better. And the cherry on top? They’re based on some of the most iconic car brands in the world. I mean, who wouldn’t want a Lego set that lets you build a miniature version of your favorite luxury vehicle?

But here’s the thing – every year, we have to say goodbye to some of our beloved Speed Champion sets. It’s like a never-ending cycle of love and loss. While it’s sad to see them go, it also means that new sets are on their way to take their place. As Lego collectors and investors, it’s important for us to stay on top of these retiring sets and snatch them up before they’re gone for good.

Now, get ready for some shocking news. Brace yourselves, my Lego-loving friends, because there are a ton of Speed Champion sets retiring this year. I know, I know. It’s both exciting and heartbreaking. But hey, at least we have plenty of options, right?

So, which sets are bidding us farewell in December 2023? Let’s take a peek. First up, we have the Koenigsegg Jesco. This set is an absolute beauty, and it’s definitely one of my personal favorites. With 280 pieces and a price per piece of around seven cents, this set is a steal. It was released in 2021, which means it will have a shelf life of around two and a half years if it retires at the end of this year. Goodbye, sweet Jesco. You will be missed.

Next on the list is the Toyota GR Supra. One look at this set, and you’ll be hooked. The vibrant colors alone make it a standout addition to any collection. With 299 pieces and a price per piece of seven cents, this is another great deal. Released in June 2021, the Supra will also have a shelf life of two and a half years if it retires in 2023. Farewell, Supra. May you always race in our memories.

But wait, there’s more! We can’t forget about the Aston Martin Valkyrie 2 pack. This set screams value with 592 pieces, two cars, and two minifigures. And the best part? You can actually find it discounted for below $40. That’s a steal compared to the current price points. It was released in March 2022 and will have a shelf life of a year and three quarters if it retires this year. Goodbye, Valkyrie, you magnificent beast.

Last but certainly not least, we have the Aston Martin DB5 – the 007 James Bond edition. Lego really knows how to bring the heat with their movie-themed sets lately, including this James Bond gem. With 298 pieces, this set is sure to make any secret agent or car enthusiast swoon. Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact shelf life for this set, but it’s definitely one worth snatching up before it’s gone.

Now, remember, all of this information is subject to change because, well, it’s Lego we’re talking about. They might decide to extend the life of some sets or throw in a surprise retirement announcement. But fear not!
