LEGO Store Shopping for 2X VIP Points & FREE GIFT!

Hey party people! I just arrived at the mall in Austin, Texas to do some Lego shopping and take advantage of the double VIP points promotion. Well, actually, it’s called two times Insider points now, but that just sounds weird to me. I’m not used to these new terms. I mean, I’m already bad with dates, so remembering when these things happen is a real struggle for me. But after looking it up, I found out that the promotion runs from the 10th to the 15th of October, and today is the 11th. Phew, made it in time!

I actually tried coming to the LEGO store yesterday to make sure I could get that pirate gift with purchase, but my car had other plans. It started shaking, and I realized I needed an oil change. So, today, I took my buddy Ross’s car. Let me tell you, trying to fit into his car when he’s 6’4″ and I’m not even close is a real challenge. He’ll just have to deal with the seat adjustments when we get home!

Anyway, I’m excited to see what the store has today because I need to spend at least $100 to get that pirate gift with purchase. Personally, I’m not super in love with it, but Ross really wants it, so I gotta get it. Sadly, there aren’t any Lego sets out right now that I’m super excited about. I’m saving up for the new piranha plant coming out in November. It’s an IP Botanical set, and it looks awesome! So, even though there aren’t any sets I’m after today, I’ll still check out the Pick-a-Brick wall and see if there are any interesting pieces. Oh, and there are new Build-a-Mini-Fig pieces too. Might pick up some of those if they catch my eye.

But what I’m really excited for today is the new…wait, it’s starting to rain. I better head inside and tell you what I’m planning to buy on the way. Texas weather, am I right? I’m still pretending it’s fall, even though it’s not quite there. I already want to wear long sleeves and sweaters. At least this tree has turned yellow, so the seasons are kinda changing.

Okay, I’m inside the LEGO store now, and they have all the Sonic stuff on display. My favorite part is Amy’s little cocktail stand. It’s so cute! Oh, and check out this big Technic car. It’s got these cute little circles on the front. Fun, right? And wait, there’s the NASA Mars Rover. Didn’t they already make one of these? I guess this one’s a Technic version. I really need to keep up with Technic news.

Moving on, I see some info about spooky stuff they have, and there it is, the gift with purchase! It’s a pirate thing you get when you spend over $100. And don’t forget, the two times Insider points promotion is happening right now. I’m so used to VIP, this Insider thing sounds strange to me. Anyway, let’s explore what’s on display!

Oh, look! The Venator Star Destroyer! I helped Ross build that one. I did the second half, and he did the first part. We make a good team. And over here, we have the pretty bugs from the insect collection. Personally, I like the butterfly the most, and the grasshopper or praying mantis is cool too. But that Hercules beetle, it kinda creeps me out, yet it’s still kinda cute. I guess that’s the charm of creepy crawlies. And hey, there’s Gringotts! I haven’t purchased it yet, but I think it would fit well into my Lego City. I should probably finish building Diagon Alley first though. I mean, I’ve had that set since 2020. Oops!

Now, let’s check out the shelves. It’s been so long since I’ve been in a Lego store, any Lego store! It’s amazing to see all the brand-new Disney stuff they have. The new camera set, the Up house, and look at that little Peter Pan set. It looks amazing next to the Haunted Mansion and the mini Disney Castle. Although, I have to say, I wish this set came with a minifigure. The Magic Carpet would’ve been perfect! But oh well.

Oh, I see the new Disney Bush sets are out too. They actually look really cool. I like this one with the little pieces. Although, I think those are stickers, which is a bit unfortunate. But hey, there are some interesting parts in there that I’m excited to build with soon. I just find it hard to get excited about Lego sets based on movies that aren’t out yet.

Oh, and check out the giant Disney Castle down here. I still haven’t finished building mine. That’s pretty embarrassing, to be honest. I’ve been so focused on mock building. Speaking of which, let’s talk about this set right here. I got a second copy of it and have been mock building with it. Each level has a similar style and building technique, but I’m expanding upon it and building it into a cliffside. It’s gonna look really cool. And I’m excited to integrate the second set into it. Oh, and I can’t forget the parrots! I have the pink one, but I haven’t built it yet. I remember being so confused when the pink one came out. I mean, the blue one was already here, so I was like, “Wait, wasn’t there already a parrot?” I guess Lego just really wanted to cover all the color options.

Now, let’s head even deeper into the store. Wow, everything has been rearranged since the last time I was here. It feels so weird. But anyhow, let me show you some of the fun things on the shelves. One thing I love about Lego is that it’s so inspiring for mock building. These different friend sets, for example, are perfect for getting motivated. The variety of colors is just so much fun! And the fact that the backs are open makes it easy to start creating something amazing.

Phew, that’s a lot to take in. But I had a blast exploring the Lego store and sharing it with you all. Now, let’s get to shopping and find the perfect sets for our Halloween party giveaway. I want to make sure everyone has a spooktacular time!
