Are you chasing down a 20th anniversary LEGO golden minifigure to complete your collection?
Maybe you haven’t heard but the Harry Potter first movie was released November of 2001, so 2021 marked the 20th anniversary of the movie and LEGO theme. In celebration, Lego produced a 20th anniversary collection of gold minifig characters.
We dive into what sets have each of the 7 golden LEGO Harry Potter minifigures. As of the posting date, these sets are still available on the LEGO site and other retailers for MSRP or below.
Don’t wait too long or these sets will be retired (some as early as 12/31/2022) and you may have to purchase them through 3rd party sellers.

If you are looking to score the golden Harry Potter, then you want the Hogwarts Polyjuice Potion Mistake 76386. You will also score 3 other minifigures with alternating faces of Crabbe and Goyle.
This scene is taken out of the Hogwarts bathroom that you can add to the other Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets castle sets.
This one of he smaller sets at only 217 pieces, so you can expect a good supply of the limited edition gold minifigures available for a reasonable cost.

Look no further than the Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Fluffy Encounter set 76387 for the the golden Hermione Granger minifigure. You also get 3 other LEGO minifigures and a nice build of the gigantic Fluffy 3- headed dog.
This set is a priced at about 2x the 1st set, but does ave almost the double amount of pieces. This Hogwarts set can also be connected with other sets to build.

Purchasing the Harry Potter Hogsmeade Village visit will get you the golden Ron Weasley minifigure to round out your collection. It is nice set and would make a great addition to any Christmas themed sets for your winter village.
It comes at a little steeper price than the previous two golden Harry Potter minifigures. Good thing is you can make your way over to bricklink and grab this one separately.
At the time of this article you can snag one for about $10, but expect that to rise once the set retires and the supply lessens.

Building on your Hogwarts sets will definitely require this Harry Potter Lego set. It will not only snag you the golden Voldemort minifigure, but 10 other minifigures (11 in total), plus snag a snake and an owl.
The build is a good value with over 1100 pieces and a large set of Lego Harry Potter minifigures.
This will be a little bit more if you want to grab this from a 3rd party LEGO seller, but still reasonable for just under $20 if you can’t splurge for the entire set.

This 76391 Hogwarts Icons Collectors set was one of the best LEGO Harry Potter sets to grab if you are a huge fan and don’t mind dropping $250 on a set to build for hours.
It is a masterpiece of a build with plenty icons like the Golden Snitch and has 3 golden Harry potter minfigures – Professor Albus Dumbledore, Professor Minerva McGonagall, and Rubeus Hagrid.
Another piece that this comes with is the display stand for all the pieces, so make sure you look to purchase that if you want to drop over $100+ for these minifigs separately.

- Golden Minifigure: Snape
This was another unique LEGO Harry Potter set to grab. The Wizard chess set is also exclusive to just Target and Lego (in the USA), so these are no available everywhere. You can grab the golden Professor Severus snape minifigure from this set.
This minifigure is going for around $15 if you wanted to just grab it. Although, you could pick this one up and probably sell just the chess set shortly after it retires.

- Golden Minifigure: Prof Quirrell
This was the last of the Lego Harry Potter sets to be available if you wanted to score the last golden Harry Potter minifigure. You get the golden Professor Quirinus Quirrell along with a cool build of his first flying lesson. The set itself also includes Neville Longbottom, Draco Malfoy and Madam Hooch minifigures.
So far, this set has been hard to come by and has not been available on Lego or with other retailers (in the USA). There are only 2 sellers in the USA that have this available on bricklink, but that could be different once it comes back in stock.
Golden Anniversary LEGO Harry Potter Minifigures Display
The actual display stand is in the Hogwarts Icons set, so that is the set you really should go for if you have to pick out a list of LEGO sets with the golden Harry Potter minifigures in.
It consists of a purple arch way and has several golden platforms to showcase your golden minifigures. You could probably part this out, but the golden display pieces might be hard to come by.
Final Thoughts
Don’t wait until these sets retire or you will have to pay a premium. As an investor, you might want to do your due diligence to see if these are worth stacking due to the collectable display of golden characters.
