1,061 pieces, $99.99, and this thing was sold out and on backorder almost as soon as it hit shelves. The LEGO City Yellow Delivery Truck (60440) is a set nobody was talking about before release and everybody wanted after. Here’s why.
What you’re getting
This is a real-world LEGO delivery truck rebuilt in brick form, complete with a detachable trailer that’s bigger than it looks in photos. The front cab opens to reveal an engine, the door opens for a minifig to climb in, and inside the cab there’s a small bed with a printed TV showing a jungle documentary, a nice little detail that rewards a close look.
The trailer is where the set earns its price. Lift the roof and you’ll find shelves stocked with tiny printed versions of other 2024 LEGO sets, a rescue helicopter, a fire truck, a space set, even a nod to the prison set. It’s a fun bit of meta detail for anyone who collects across themes. A forklift rolls out from inside the trailer on a stretchy elastic mechanism that lowers and raises a cargo skid, genuinely satisfying to play with, not just look at.
The small stuff that adds up
A side build shaped like a hot dog stand rounds out the set, complete with a tiny drink can hidden inside and a sign that looks a lot like Costco branding. That’s not a coincidence: this set released as a Costco-exclusive alongside its general LEGO Shop availability, and three minifigs including a worker with a Costco-style vest lean into the theme.
Printed pieces do a lot of the heavy lifting here. There are far fewer stickers than you’d expect on a $100 set, which keeps the whole build looking clean.
The Reseller’s Take

Limited-availability City sets with genuine crossover appeal (the Costco tie-in pulls in buyers outside the usual LEGO crowd) tend to hold value well once retail supply dries up. This isn’t a $500 grail set, but for a $100 entry point the demand signal here was about as strong as it gets.
