Release Date Of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
On April 5, 2022 the latest Lego Star Wars video game will be released
Preorder Deluxe & Retailer Bonuses Lego Investing Take
First, let me say that this game will rock, so definitely get one for your personal collection if you are into LEGO Star Wars and play video games.
But it might be a gamble to grab a boatload of these games just to grab bonuses and hope to make some money back.
First, some of the retailers have their own bonuses for grabbing the pre-order from them, so let’s examine those.
Retailer Bonuses
These bonuses come with ordering these early and in addition to the deluxe edition bonuses. They might be while supplies last, so check early if you want these.
- GameStop – Free mini X-Wing LEGO set as seen above. Not certain if it is actually the LEGO polybag set 30386, but sure look like it. (Value $8)
- Best Buy – Free steelbook case – not sure if this has collectible value as not an expert in video game collectibles, but still cool if that is your thing
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Deluxe Bonuses
For those of you that order the deluxe version and pay an extra $10, you can expect the following.
Character Pack (Value: $5)
A character collection of 6 characters will be unlocked. not certain if there is a code to enter or the game itself will just have this unlocked.
Either way if you are parting the game and the Luke minifigure, then this could be your up sell to someone just wants the game with the character pack.
Lego 30625 – Luke Skywalker With Blue Milk Minfigure (Value: $5)
This bonus features a minifigure of a younger Luke Skywalker drinking some Banta blue milk. Maybe we may get an unlock code for this very character in the game, but that is just a hope.
What is the potential value of this minifigure? We give it $5 as a cost as it is one of 2 bonuses you get and you paid an extra $10 to score them.
But really what would this minifigure fetch on the market once the dust settles from the sales of the deluxe version.
Well before we speculate.
You might have noticed that this minifigure is familiar. It made an appearance in these previous sets:
- Death Star (75159)
- Obi-Wan’s Hut (75270)
- Star Wars Advent Calendar (75279)
- Mos Eisley Cantina (75290)
The main difference of this exclusive minifigure is the blue milk mustache print and the milk carton box with a Bantha on it. The milk carton box is further also has a white cheese slope piece.
So, this will most likely just appear in this deluxe set or will it? Unfortunately, LEGO is really the only ones to know that.
If you do a quick search on Bricklink you will find an impressive 50 different Luke Skywalker minifigures. Not sure if that is a record for a particular character, but it seems like he is popular.
So this tells me that they will likely print a ton of these. We may even find these as a GWP later or show up at some other exclusive events.
Next to Darth Vader, Luke is the signature minifigure character of Star Wars.
You might be better off finding these on eBay and wait until the prices level off as the supply increases than to buy several videos games and hope you sell off your games for around the cost of the Standard edition.
Maybe $15 will be the rate when the supply increases. But, what would this be worth in the future is really still up in the air. It probably won’t be the next Cloud City Luke.
Maybe it gets to $25 in a few years, but most likely as most Luke Skywalker minifigures average about $3-$10.
After my own due diligence, I am going to pass on grabbing more than 2 deluxe version and see if these show up elsewhere.
If you just can’t wait until April 5, 2022 you can always grab one from this eBay seller.
